This provides a pragmatic, progressive learning experience while effecting positive change in the community. In this program, students will gain insight into community and environmental needs, engage in activities and outings that address those needs together with structured opportunities for reflection to develop their civic mindedness and empathy. Students will experience interpersonal learning, in which they re-evaluate personal values and motivations as well as build a connection and commitment to the community. It also supports students to develop a global mindset, enabling them to communicate across languages and cultures to open doors to further study, personal and career opportunities. Using Singapore’s multi-racial and religious society as a model, students will better understand the beauty in diversity, sources of tension that can arise due to a lack of cultural understanding and sensitivity and approaches they can take to bridge these gaps for themselves and their communities.

STEM Program

To succeed in this new information-based and highly advanced technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in academic disciplines such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to emerge as well-rounded and relevant youths with more opportunities to contribute to society. Well-structured STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

The Global Citizen Education Group’s STEM Program aims to make Math and Science both fun and interesting, helping students to do much more than just learn. It actively engages students in authentic and challenging STEM learning experiences, having activities that show how real-life implications of STEM can pull together the ideas presented in school. This creates learning environments that foster innovation and creativity, and provide opportunities to see how concepts relate to life. By exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, we can nurture students’ critical and creative thinking, information and communication technology capability and personal and social capability.

Innovation Program

Students today need to learn how to understand systems and solve problems. In school, every question has a right answer and students are supposed to study to know what that answer is. But in the workplace, the important problems don’t have clear answers.

The Global Citizenship Education Innovation Program can help students develop the problem solving and inventive skills needed to tackle problems like that. It fosters skills like teamwork, communication and exploration with a focus on personalized education, development of self-esteem, and cultivation of learning and life skills. Through interaction with innovation-mentors from tertiary institutions and other organisations, students are exposed to knowledge and experiences beyond the classroom. It teaches them to think critically about existing problems and be creative in coming up with new solutions. The Global Citizen Education Group seeks to use technology to empower students to become lifelong learners who are agents of change and prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow in a 21st century world.
