Intensive Debate (for Hanoi Debate Tournament 2024)

This program aims to help students prepare for the 2024 Hanoi Debate Tournament (tentatively in July 2024). In this program, teams will be trained trained based on past year motions as well as on current affairs to help them become ready for the impromptu rounds of debate.

Over the course of this program, students will be guided in developing a team style and synergy. They will also be trained by experienced debate coaches and have sessions with seasoned adjudicators.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Form a team to participate in Hanoi Debate Tournament 2024,
• Differentiate between different types of motions and adopt the right methods to develop their cases for the respective motions,
• Understand the roles of each speaker and identify which role fits themselves the best,
• Discover their personal style of debating,
• Develop coherent and logical arguments,
• Practice their public speaking and confidence skills,
• Work collaboratively with others,
• Familiarize with past year motions as well as on current affairs to help them become ready for the impromptu rounds of debate.
